Ask RealPlayer: Download This Video in Google’s Chrome Browser
UPDATED GOOGLE CHROME AND REALPLAYER, March 17, 2017:
We have just released a new version of RealPlayer that works with Google Chrome.
The idea behind Ask RealPlayer is that we will be providing answers to those questions straight from our product experts. Think of Ask RealPlayer as your buddy that works at RealPlayer. Please leave your questions below and we’ll address them in the comments or in our next installment of Ask RealPlayer.
Q: Why doesn’t “Download This Video” work in Google’s Chrome browser?
A: Chrome has recently been updated. Among the few changes that were rolled out in the update, Pepper Flash has been implemented to handle Flash video. You can learn more about the decision to implement Pepper Flash in this post from Google’s Chromium blog.
As a result of the update, you may have recently started having problems with RealPlayer’s Download This Video button in the browser such as it doesn’t appear when viewing videos in Chrome 21, or maybe you can see the button, but nothing happens when you click it, the following steps should resolve the problem. In order to fix the issue, please do the steps in both sections and close and reopen Chrome before trying the download again.
First: Disable Pepper Flash
1. Open a Google Chrome browser window.
2. In the address bar enter chrome://plugins/
3. Click the Details link in the top right corner.
4. The top entry should show three versions of Flash. Click Disable for the first one (you should see the Location listed as C:UsersuserAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplication21.0.1180.60PepperFlashpepflashplayer.dll).
5. Close, restart Chrome, and try downloading a video from your favorite video site.
Second: Update your RealPlayer
Download the latest version of RealPlayer by clicking the download tile below. You can also update RealPlayer by following these steps:
1. Open RealPlayer on your computer.
2. Click the RealPlayer logo.
3. Click Check for Update.
4. Check the box next to RealPlayer.
5. Click Install Updates. If you don’t see RealPlayer in the available updates, you most likely have the latest version.
If you’re still unable to download videos after following these solutions, please contact Customer Support or leave a comment below.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-PLEASE HELP-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i need some help, because i’m unable to download videos on chrome or internet explorer
Have you tried the steps outlined above?
I’m trying to download sounds/music not video from bibleonline.ru I used to download from there with no problem but now i can’t. can someone please help.
I have followed steps above and able to see “Download this video” now. When click on it, nothing happen. Anyone experience the same?
Thanks
Tried the above; the pop-up comes up over the top right corner of the video, but clicking it does nothing.
thank you so much, but by doing the 1st witch is the 1 that worked for me. will it affect anything else im needing?
I have tried all the suggestions but still not working. But maybe my problem is different. In my case looking at preferences/download & recording/webdownload & recording ONLY internet explorer 9 is shown and not Chrome. For some reason Realplayer doesn’t pick up chrome as browser. Tried everything from uninstalling to reinstalling bu to no avail.
Hope there is a solution to this problem. Thanks
Yes I tried everything it said to do but when I click on download nothing happens. Gruuu! I am so upset that I could scream and throw my laptop. Now what?????
Try downloading the latest version of RealPlayer and installing it. That should fix the problem.
As long as you have at least one browser in the RealPlayer Download & Record Preferences it should work. Give that a try and let us know how it goes.
Try installing the latest version of RealPlayer, that should fix the problem.
Done all of that, still nothing. Could it be because I am running windows 7?
I tried the 2 solutions i still can’t download video
Couldn’t get past step 2 in Disable Pepepr Flash. Just get a “page not availble message”
Have you tried updating the player? That should help.
hey thanks it worked……….
it worked!!
thanks a lot!!!!!
To start with thank you for taking the time to tell us about the pepper flash “Update”. by Chrome its good to know the problem has an outside cause if not a solution at the moment. I downloaded the latest version of Real Player yesterday [basic version as my computer doesn’t have a lot of RAM and the area I live in doesn’t have a high speed information telephone exchange] but. Real Player still doesn’t automatically offer me the YouTube video download as it did up to a week or so ago. The only symbol on Chrome in the right hand corner is a spanner. Clicking on this and then “Extensions” gives a “Real Player HTML5Video downloader Extension” with a enable or disable option however clicking either still does not result in a “do you want to download this video” window. I like using Chrome and would hate to be forced to use either high RAM requring Internet Explorer or the continually “updating” Firefox. Can I use the Chrome Pepper flash to download videos?
I cannot even find the details link. ha
You may need to verify your User Account Controls have been verified before trying to install RealPlayer. YOu can get more information about User Account Control in Windows 7 and Vista as well as directions here: https://real.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8840/kw/windows%207/p/9

To find the Details link. Open a Google Chrome browser window. In the address bar, enter chrome://plugins/ and enter. There should be a Details link in the top right corner.
it works!!!!! thx a lot!!
Thanks for this. The 1st solution worked for me.
I’ve already tried many other things… And this FIRST solution WORKED amazingly! So simple! Thanks.
Works like a charm. Thanks a lot for the help.
I also couldn’t get this to work even after disabling the pepflash plugin and re-installing RealPlayer.
I finally uninstalled RealPlayer and installed RealDownloader in it’s place. Downloading from Chrome now works for me.
Glad it’s working for you now.

in my old laptop i could use realplayer just fine, but it wont let me download on this one. I can’t download the newest version of RealPlayer either because i have no money to buy the upgrade.
what should i do?
ReaPlayer is free to download. You should be able to download and install the latest version of RealPlayer by clicking the orange button in the top right corner of this page. If that doesn’t work let us know what browser you’re using.
i still cant download please help
I tried the first method, but it still didnt work. It says its out of process.

It works,Thank you
okay this is working awesomely but i still like the pepper flash so is there any chance for an upgrade in which pepper will work?
Tried the above steps but stll no change. Realplayer Downloader works fine with IE and Firefox, but not in Chrome or Opera.
I was able to use Realplayer download until yesterday, today is no more working.
When I checked in the chrome plug ins, I have only one version of flash
Shockwave Flash 11.3 r31
C:UsersXpsAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplication22.0.1229.79PepperFlashpepflashplayer.dll
and the folder C:UsersuserAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplication21.0.1180.60 is no more existing on my disk
What should I do?
I tried but there weren’t three versions of adobe flash player..just one..when i clicked disable, none of the videos can be played as it states to install a latest flash player..when i reverse the step, the videos can be played but the download the video icon doesn’t pop up…can any1 pls help me wit this issue?
Performed the above steps awhile back and the problem was fixed. The problem has returned and now in the plugins page pepflash is the only option as the other 2 are not even listed anymore. Did Google change Chrome again?
Pepflash is now the only player available in plugins. What do we do now?
Someone make it work in chrome 22 already! it’s been out long enough, someone damn well better be figuring it out.
The First solution works
Try updating your version of RealPlayer.
We are aware of the issue with Google Chrome and currently working on a global fix soon. In the mean time try downloading videos using Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox. thanks for your support and patience.
Please try disabling Pepper-Flash by following the steps given in the link: https://real.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10000 and also try using Mozilla Firefox /Internet Explorer. If that doesn’t work, let us know so that we can help further.
Hi,
I tried doing step one but videos werent playing on my computer anymore as it was saying I didn’t have Flash’s latest version anymore . Does anybody have any other solution for me?
i have installed real player but i m not able to download songs , i have already tried with updates still the problem is same
hi i still cannot solve aproblem
Hey there. I had updated the real player but somehow when my downloading is in progress, suddenly the real player stopped and I dont evet get to download the video. And another case, the video had finished downloaded but I cannot played the video. This is happening to me yesterday. Before this, it was okay. Help me!
We totally understand your frustration. Chrome just did another update. Stay tuned for an update on this post. In the meantime, you can still use RealPlayer with other browsers.
We’ll keep you posted.
Thanks! 🙂 It worked just perfectly! 🙂
unable to see the download option. followed all the steps.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software again.
Assuming that you are using Google Chrome version 22 to download the videos, Google Chrome version 22 does not currently support our Download This Video feature. Try downloading the videos using a different browser like Mozilla Firefox/Internet Explorer.
is there a reason my comment before this wasn’t posted? does it need to be approved or something? it should tell you.
What was your comment? We’ll look into it and post it.
it’s about a paragraph i keep trying to write. but it does nothing? can i only post one sentence? i see other people explaining there whole problem
is there an email i can send an email too? or a customer service phone number? cause i can’t post my comment here and i am getting frustrated. ill try again: like i said, which didn’t seem to be posted sorry. i only have the one flashplayer, the pepperflash one. i used to have all three just like it says but it dissapeared or something i’m not sure? i used to have this same issue about every couple months and i would follow option 1 to fix it. but now theres only that one flashplayer, if i disable it, i cannot view any videos as it says i do not have a player installed, then asks me to install adobe which should already be automatically installed on chrome?? i am confused and getting to the point of frustration, i really like realplayer it’s an amazing program i use alot and it would be a shame if i can’t use it anymore. and there are no updates on realplayer for me either.
Thanks for your comment we are looking into the issue. In the meantime, we want to help remedy the situation. We can provide more detailed help via our customer support. Please send an email to help@real.com along with a brief description of the flash problem you’re encountering.
Yes, please contact customer support by sending an email to help@real.com they will be able to give you more detailed help specific to your setup.
The instructions provided above restored my download button. Once I disabled the pepper flash, everything worked fine. Thank you.
The first option worked well. Thank you very much
Rgrds,
Nasri
First option worked for the first time with google chrome. but later shows error message “Flash player upgrade required”. Please help to solve this issue.
Unfortunately, the latest release of Chrome 22 does not currently support our Download This Video feature. At this time, the only solution is to use Internet Explorer or Firefox for downloading videos with RealPlayer.
Try using RealPlayer with Internet Explorer or Firefox.
It worked! Thank you. but I want to know what happens when I disable pepperflash?

I tried the first option, but after disabling the flash I couldn’t not see the video in the first place !! It gives an error that adobe flash is required to play the video. and even with that, i couldn’t see the download the video button !

Hi All.
I tried a different step and it worked for me.
OS: Windows XP SP3
1. Open chrome://plugins/ in the browser
2. Disable all the Flash extensions listed.
3. Disable Shockwave Extenstions
4. Disable any other downloader extension you have.
5. Close Chrome and open it
6. Open Youtube and try to play a video
7. It gives an error ” Flash Player is required to play this”
8. Click on the option to download flashplayer from the youtube window.
9. Install FlashPlayer.
10. Try youtube again.
11. It worked for me without a restart of Chrome. Try restarting Chrome.
I have try all solutions and none have helped. I have downloaded realplayer and the download and recording does not work. I have also open explore and it did not work on there. Please help. I cant download videos.
I have tried that but I cannot still download video.
Unfortunately, RealPlayer is not currently working in the latest version of Google Chrome. Try using Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Hello .. I’ve been real player + user / fan for several years now .. and am quite happy with it, but a couple of things annoy me, Number 1 I have not burned my own favorit cd .. with songs I have from cd collection min .. I get the message that I do not have the legal rights??
Why does the ONLY real player? there is no problem with Win media player etc..
Number 2. I’m pretty tired of that real player stock 2-3-4 copies of the same movie / song when I move a song in my library .. realplayer save it again ..
Is there a way and prevent real player and do it .. or a program that removes duplicates?
Regards BluesViking from Norway
Do you know the video format of those videos? If you just provide the extension after the video that will be enough.
What is the problem you’re having?
Try using Internet Explorer or Firefox.
Chrome 22 (released on Sept. 26, 2012) does not currently support our Download This Video feature. At this time, the only solution is to use Internet Explorer or Firefox for downloading videos with RealPlayer.
Have you tried downloading a video in Internet Explorer or Firefox?
It worked! Thank you so much!
MANOJ, THANK YOU!!!!
People,
Follow THESE steps
Hi All.
I tried a different step and it worked for me.
OS: Windows XP SP3
1. Open chrome://plugins/ in the browser
2. Disable all the Flash extensions listed.
3. Disable Shockwave Extenstions
4. Disable any other downloader extension you have.
5. Close Chrome and open it
6. Open Youtube and try to play a video
7. It gives an error ” Flash Player is required to play this”
8. Click on the option to download flashplayer from the youtube window.
9. Install FlashPlayer.
10. Try youtube again.
11. It worked for me without a restart of Chrome. Try restarting Chrome.
Step 1 worked for me, Thanks Real Team
THANK YOU ! XXX
i m using google chrome.i also have real player sp.when i open youtube and right click on the video ,there is no option for downlaod via real player ….what should i do?????
in internet explorer 8….the option is present but when i click ‘download this video to real player’ it says that this clip could not be downloaded from this site…….please tell me what should I do!!!!!!
ever since that update….i cannot play videos on google chrome without them buffering/loading the whole time…i followed them two steps, disabled pepper flash and updated my real player (got the download video buttong back) but it is saying that RealPlayer(tm)ChromeBackgroundExtension Plug-in (32-bit) is out of date and i cant find any way to update it..need help…real annoying at this stage.
the first step worked for me, thank u so much 🙂
Unfortunately, RealPlayer currently isn’t working with the latest update of Google Chrome. Try using RealPlayer with Firefox or Internet Explorer.
Sorry for the trouble Philip. Please try to uninstall and reinstall RealPlayer by following the steps given in the link: http://real.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8721.
Unfortunately, RealPlayer isn’t currently working with the latest update of Google Chrome. Try using Internet Explorer or Firefox.
After reinstalling Windows, I cannot get Real Player to work properly. When it starts up I get the error message “Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://www.aol.co.uk/?src=real&ncid=realplayer. Operation aborted.” Although Real Player is still there, it removes the Internet page it downloads on start-up and will not access the Internet afterwards.
I cannot get any help on the Web site because they do not give suport for the free version. Disabling the flash as mentioned above prevents video clips from working at all. I do have the latest version of Real Player and as far as I can see Real Player is included in the add-ons list to give it permission to operate when clicking on Tools/ Manage add ons in Internet Explorer. It will not give the option to download video clips in Chrome. So I can’t get it to work either in Chrome or Explorer.
Unfortunately, RealPlayer isn’t currently working with the latest version of Chrome. However, it should be working with Internet Explorer. Please send an email to help@real.com along with a description of the problems you’re having using RealPlayer with Internet Explorer so that we can better assist you.
Please send an email to help@real.com along with a brief description of what happens when using RealPlayer with Internet Explorer 8.

The first one worked man, It’s simple and great

Unfortunately, RealPlayer isn’t currently working with the latest version of Google Chrome. Please try using RealPlayer with Firefox or Internet Explorerer.
thank you so much this was extreamly helpful (sorry i cant spell) it also helped if i read what yall had put up. Thanks again so much!
i dont know why but i have tried everything and nothing is working, it is really frustrating.
happy, it worked…….
it is NOT working, I’m using chrome version 23 and i”m unable to download videos
Also, help to download videos from youtube.
I first had problems when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 two weeks ago. I tried your first method and can now successfully download via Chrome, so thanks for that, but……
I cannot download directly from the Real Player itself – the download box/icon doesn’t appear at all. This is very odd, because in the past when IE or Chrome gave me problems I would type in URL in RealPlayer and download videos from there. Any suggestions as I really want the Real Playere to work properly in case I have further issues with Chrome and IE?
i’m unable to download videos on chrome or internet explorer
i have tried all above but still its not working
Here is how to make it work with newer versions of Chrome. Chrome comes with a version of flash bundled in – it used to come with two versions bundled (an older one plus the newer Pepper). They finally removed to the older from the bundling, but like any browser, Chrome will still support a plug in installed externally.
Close Chrome. Then using Internet Explorer, go to Adobe and download the flash installer. Run that to install Adobe, then open Chrome, and follow the steps above to disable Pepper. You may need to repeat this once you get updates from Chrome too.
The first option had been working fine until this week. Now I the button doesn’t appear at all, even though pepper flash is disabled.
If you upgraded to the latest version of Chrome that could be the problem. Unfortunately, at this time RealPlayer doesn’t work with the latest version of Chrome.
It should work in Internet Explorer. Try enabling the plug-in. It may have been disabled in an update.
Unfortunately, RealPlayer isn’t currently working with the latest version of Google Chrome. Please try using RealPlayer with Firefox or Internet Explorerer.
well, i tried the first option, and the “Download this video” button appeared again, i even could download the video, but when i try to play it, a pop-up shows and says
AutoUpdate
RealPLayer needs to download new software to play this clip
and when i click the Ok button to download the update it says
There’s no software update available that admits this content
What can i do if i have windows 8? I have already made everything and doesnt give a ……… please help!!!
real player download option not working with chrome Version 23.0.1271.64 even after disabling pepper flash & updating real player, when i opened plugins on pepper flash is available ?
Anything i try doesn’t work.
I installed Real Player 1.5 and followed the outlined steps so the download button appeared but now I can’t watch most of the YouTube videos. Help please?
upgrade real player by clicking the icon on top left corner of real player.
disabled pepper flash stiil can’t download
why does the ordinary real player does not work in google chrome windows 8? what can i do?
Hey , I have been using realplayer downloader since long.
off late it is when i try to download anything from chrome or any other browser the downloder just stuck in the taskbar. It still downloads the contents though. Its just that I can’t maximize it.
I have latest version of realplayer and downloader . Is it something to do with realplyer of any other windows setting perhaps ?
Solution did not work for me.
I found and disabled “C:Documents and SettingsTom.TOSHIBA-TOMLocal SettingsApplication DataGoogleChromeApplication23.0.1271.64PepperFlashpepflashplayer.dll” then restarted Chrome. RealPlayer is current version. No download possible. Why not?
C:UsersuserAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplication21.0.1180.60PepperFlashpepflashplayer.dll
When I disable the peperflash, video’s refuse to play, therefore I can’t download… It’s a bit of a loophole…
the first solution works!
This worked! Thanks so much for posting this! 🙂
Having issues with windows 8 and the newest version IE. I am not able to download any video’s tried all of the suggestions still does not work.
I found this out by mistake this morning. If you right click on the video (say, Youtube) and from menu that appears, select “Pop Out”. The video will now display in a pop out window. You can now put your mouse over the video and then the familiar Realplayer “Download Video” tab will display on the video. I’ve tried this on my HTPC, my netbook and my work computer.
its working guys…………superb

Try downloading RealPlayer again, today. The new version fixes the issue.
I recently updated my RealPlayer (basic) so as to enable “download this video” in my Google Chrome & Mozilla browsers. The needful was done but now, while getting into preferences for changing the download path, I do not find “download & recording” option. Only Recording option is visible.
Pl suggest if it is a bug or something else..

I just upgraded to RealPlayer 16 Plus. Very nice. It was working just fine in Chrome and then it stopped. The little “download this video” even disappeared. Why? I have no idea.
Pepper Flash is disabled. It is now and it was when it worked. I have rebooted my machine. Nothing.
This plugin is enabled in Chrome. Does it affect it? See below.
I am at a loss. Why does this happen? I have realdownloader.exe installed or at least it tells me that I do when I try to install it again.
Very nice new interface. Was working, not working now.
Please help.

Thanks very much! My Real Player Download works fine now in my Chrome browser after I followed your instruction 🙂
I’m not particularly computer nerdy, so always liked realplayer for it’s ease of use. It seems that every time there’s an update I have to spend hours trying to get the download button to re-appear. I use chrome, and in the past I’ve always eventually managed it, but this time (December 2012) I’m beaten. I’ve completely re-installed realplayer to make sure I’ve got the newest version, I’ve disabled pepper flash etc. Still nothing. Why do you keep changing it? If it ain’t broke why try to fix it ? Can someone tell me what’s wrong ? I’m getting to the point where I’m thinking ‘why bother?’ There are plenty of other downloaders out there. Using realplayer now seems to be some sort of trial, as if they don’t want people to use it !
I am using Google Chrome Version 23.0.1271.97 m. Also I am using RealPlayer 16.0.0.282 (latest).

I was only able to download 6 videos from youtube and then when i downloaded itunes to transfer the videos onto my itunes library it stopped working. I have the latest version of chrome, internet explore, and real player. I have tried everything. I even installed real player like 4 times! The “download video” icon still pops on both internet explorer and chrome but nothing happens when i click it. Please help!!!
I tried First solution it worked just for one video

Then I tried the second method. it worked for just one video too.
I would like to share with you finally that, I tried the 2 solutions i still can’t download videos repeatedly.
Kindly help.
ok so now it pops up on the realplayer download but it just doesn’t download. What do i do?
Just downloaded the latest version of Real Player. My system is OS-Windows 7 and I use mostly Firefox as my browser. After the download, the first thing I did was to make sure the download this button was enabled. I opened Real Player wet to the options list and was going to click on the Download and Recording option but it wasn’t there. What gives. This is an upgrade?!? More like a downgrade. I immediately uninstalled Real Player and installed an older version. What is the purpose of an upgrade that is a lesser version of the one I had?
Can’t get Realplayer to work on my Toshiba laptop at all. Will not work on Firefox or Chrome. I have the pepper flash disabled. Can’t get the Realdownloader to pop up or record any videos. Just started doing this a few days ago. All is working fine on my Dell desktop. Any suggestions?
Thanks…..Bob
I accidentally deleted the plug in ‘Download this video’ from extension in google chrome, how do I reinstall it again?
I followed all of the instructions above and the button still doesn’t show up! what do I do?
Download the latest version of RealPlayer and re-install. That should do it.
well, I may owe an appology. In my defense however, I tried everything suggested. btw I’m using ie 9 and not google chrome, just regular google. Real Player used to contain the listed items in prefernces that said Downloading and Recording. The versions I have downloaded tonight do not. I did, after uninstalling Real Player for what I thought was the last time ever, discover your company has now separated the two services into a Real Player and Real Downloader and something else I am too tired to explore tonight. So, appologies for the Greed comment. Be sure you not that this case may be similar to some of your other customer issues. The options in Real Player no longer offer Downloading and Recording. Might want to let folks know when you break apart a long time software package we have come to love. Cheers.
I am really getting tired of having to trouble shoot why realdownloader constantly crashes and will not display the download button! Come on now it has been months since this crap started. It was working just fine and tonight in the middle of an important download it has crashed and will not come back up. I am going to uninstall and reinstall it ONCE AGAIN , this making at least 9 times in the last 3 months. As of now I am hunting for a better more reliable program and will be taking many of my friends with me. The uniqueness and ease of this program could have made this an a-1 top rated most sold program but I will be damned if I will pay for something that constantly has issues. Do your techs not notice the amount of negative feed back you are getting in at least the last year? What is so hard about collaborating with the networks that support your program so everyone updates wont cause problems IF that is the reason. What a tremendous disappointment.
How do you stop the pop up download this clip icon? It is becoming really annoying cause it pops up while I play facebook games.
i have checked for updates in realplayer. where it says, ‘check box next to realplayer’, it does not show that option, just audio updates. i have realplayer basic version on windows7. i use googlechrome
it has been a long time since i have been able to use the downloader and i am sadly getting frustrated with it, i just installed IE9 and Firefox. while already having Chrome. i had all the correct plugins/extensions enabled and disabled. the “Download this video” option appears all the time when i see a video, but if i try to download it, the downloader opens and then freezes and eventually crashing. EVERY single time. i do not know how to fix this and can’t find any help anywhere on the internet. i am about to give up on realplayer, please help me support.
I cannot even install Realplayer after the initial download. It asks if I want to allow the installation, then nothing. Can anyone help?
IAll doesnt work

Hi Ian, I’m not sure I completely understand your question, but let me try and help. When you have RealPlayer open, go to the upper left hand corner. Click the down arrow next to the logo. You will see an option “Check for Update”. Click that option. After you begin the process, if there are updates, you will be presented with a check box for all elements that have changed from the version you have installed. Check all boxes and select “Install”. If RealPlayer is not listed as one of the options then you already have the latest options.
If that doesn’t answer you question, please send me an email at help@real.com with more information about what you are experiencing and perhaps attach a screen shot so I can better help you.
Windows 7, and IE9 32 bit update version 9.0.12; RealDownloader appears to start (the “download box appears above video, I click it and the Downloader window opens) but then after a few seconds I get an error “Real Downloader has stopped working. Windows is looking etc….” It used to work fine up until a few weeks ago.
I’ve uninstalled Real Player and re-installed 3 or 4 times now, including removing all the plugin libraries before re-installing. Everything looks ok, but the Downloader just doesn’t work any more. I’m using MSE security – all up-to-date. I also have two machines configured the similarly – it works on the other machine – the differnece is that I installed Chrome on this machine. Uninstalling Chrome doesn’t seem to fix the problem tho’.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Running Windows 7 with Chrome Version 24.0.1312.57m and I get the Download button at top of videos, and when I click it, the download starts (can see RealDownloader running in the task bar) and if I mouse over the RealDownloader icon in the task bar it shows a preview of the downloader window that shows the video is downloading, and in fact if I look at the download folder, the video is being downloaded there. The problem is there is no downloader window running on the desktop that one can use to manage the downloads in real time. If I click on the taskbar preview for that app window, nothing happens. Anyone else have this problem?
Hey, Real Team. I’m having issues with being able to download. The first “solution” you gave was not a solution at all, it has not helped in the slightest. I am able to see the button; however, it does not work. It does not load the downloader, nor does it actually download anything. It was working up until the 30th of January, 4 days ago. Now, it does not.
I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of RealPlayer, and have even tried downloading videos in RealPlayer’s Web Videos player, it still does not work.
If you guys would not mind giving me a solution of some sorts, that would be nice.
Hey the first option works till i close the window .restarting the window again makes the option again enable .please suggest

I can help you with your inquiry, but I need more information regarding your issue. Could you please be more specific about the problem you are having? I have lots of Youtube videos ( flash videos) downloaded and stored in Realplayer. I can no longer play them as a red circle with a diagonal line inside it appears against each one of them. I recently upgraded to Realplayer 16. Is this the reason? My system is Windows XP with IE8. Can you help me, please?
Hi Kevin,
When you play or import files into RealPlayer, it creates a list of those files in your Library. This list remains the same until you import or play more clips. If you move, rename, or delete any clips, they’ll still appear in the list, but RealPlayer will display a red X symbol in front of the name of each clip it cannot find.
Try the steps provided given below to resolve this issue:
1) Delete the clip references from RealPlayer:
2) Import them by following:
https://real.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8702.
If you have additional questions, please email us at help@real.com.
Hi Ted, I understand you would like to know more about the charges.
On checking in your account information, I can see that you have purchased RealPlayer15 under the e-mail address “tedster1969@sbcglobal.net.”
When you originally purchased RealPlayer Plus, you purchased version 15, which was a one-time charge. With that purchase, you received updates and support of that version for no additional fees or hidden charges. We are now offering RealPlayer Plus version 16. This is a new product with new features. You can continue to use your current version without charge. If you want the latest version with the additional features, it requires a purchase.
In case if you have updated to RealPlayer v16 and lost plus feature, you can very well rollback to previous version by using the download link below.
http://cache-download.real.com/free/support/win/15/RealPlayer.exe
Please uninstall the current version before redownloading the older version; sign in after downloading and launching the older version.
If you have additional questions, email us at help@real.com.
Just wanna ask a question, why when i am downloading a movie, it will stop halfway and saying that unable to download. When I click on the retry button it will continue. But after sometimes, the ‘unable to download’ word will appear again and again. And sometimes I click retry it will start from the beginning. This happens quite frequent. Can someone help me with my problem? Thanks.
Hi Jerman,
Please be informed that you can download all unprotected online streaming videos using RealPlayer. However, we respect copyright protection hence if the video is protected with copyrights then RealPlayer cannot download it.
If the videos you are trying to download are not protected, try to delete the cookies and Temp files from the Browser by following the steps given in this link:
https://real.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8743
If you have additional questions, email us at help@real.com.
I have tried disabling Pepper Flash, and disable it, close the browser, reopen, still no download button. And usually when I re-check it, Pepper Flash is still Enabled; it’s as if when I make the change it doesn’t save it. I have tried re-downloading Real Player v16 – and I am a paying customer, I’m not using the free verson – though I wish I were from the results I’m getting. It doesn’t appear to work in Opera either. I uninstalled Firefox – turns out I had a virus – “Program Files (x86)BabylonToolbarBabylonToolbar1.5.3.17Babyl onToolbarApp.dll a variant of Win32/Toolbar.Babylon application” – fixed that by running ESET online scanner, quarrentine, delete. Still doesn’t work.
Any thoughts?

Hi Team,
I use the basic real player. I have tried all the above, I have also uninstalled real player and have downloaded again from your website. Even though it shows real player 16 on your website, when I downloaded it, the file version states- 4.6.017 is it the latest 16th version?
After I installed it, the problem is still not solved. On google chrome the download icon is not appearing. And it crashes when I open youtube. I checked chrome://plugins/ and it shows below are Enabled:
RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader Chrome Background Extension Plug-In (32-bit) – Version: 1.3.0.208
RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader Chrome Background Extension Plug-In
RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader HTML5VideoShim Plug-In (32-bit) – Version: 1.3.0.208
RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader HTML5VideoShim Plug-In
RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader PepperFlashVideoShim Plug-In (32-bit) – Version: 1.3.0.208
RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader PepperFlashVideoShim Plug-In
RealDownloader Plugin – Version: 1.3.0.208.
Why does it shows Version: 1.3.0.208? Can you advise and give an appropriate solution.
Thanks,
Hey guys. I figured out how to fix the Realdownloader button, at least for me. If the button doesn’t do anything, go into the task manager, go into processes and look for recordingmanager.exe. Then end that process. After that you should be able to download videos again.
I use Google Chrome. Just re-downloaded realplayer and real player downloader and converter after not having used it in awhile. It worked great the first day for downloading videos from Youtube. Several hours later, though, the download button appeared in the upper right corner of the video, but when I click on it, nothing happens. I disabled pepper flash and downloaded recommended flash players updates, but it still doesn’t work. Help!

I have followed all the steps carefully but this will not work for me. A problem I am having is that Chrome will not add Realplayer to my extensions list. The plugins are there and are all enabled. Realplayer downloader works fine for me on IE in my machine so this looks again like a compatibility issue between Chrome and Realplayer. Any suggestions?
I followed the instructions, but still cannot download from YouTube. That button doesn’t appear. The instruction # 4 (…. The top entry should show three versions of Flash. Click Disable for the first one (you should see the Location listed as …UsersuserAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplication21.0.1180.60PepperFlashpepflashplayer.dll).

Ok guys let me share. I was pissed up when the real player “download video” didn’t appear on the top of any videos in Chrome. But in Internet explorer doesn’t have any problem at all only in Chrome. So I didn’t stop until I found the right solution.
You don’t have to do the steps noted above it wasn’t working on me. Don’t disable any plugins in Chrome especially any flash plug in.
All you have to do is this.
1st step – Open your real player and check for the updates. Go to >> File or click Real player logo, then >> Click references then>> check updates. (Note: I don’t know exactly the lay out of the old version because right after i updated it the lay out had changed.) Just find any ways to update it.
2nd step – After you click the update, the new window appear ( it might ask for administration acess, just accept it) . Now you can see the choices to update. Those are multimedia plug-ins
just click and check the empty box of every choices Examples: 1. ProducerSDK for RealAudio Lossless
2. RealAudio 2.0 Codec Plugin.
Click Install.
3. Step 3- After the installation finish, Go back to chrome browser and you will a new notification plugins. Just click in then enable it. If you can’t see it, just go to Chrome://plugins, from there enable the new real player plugins.
4. Step 4 – Close the Chrome browser, There you are the download video will appear on any videos you will visited. Sometimes if it doesn’t show you have to refresh and refresh the window until the “Download video” appear.
Hope it will work on you guys.
My Download this video button is not appearing in Google Chrome. I have disabled pepperflash, I have updated realplayer, and have even completely unistalled realplayer from my computer and started over with a clean copy. But I still cannot download videos from any website. How can I start downloading again? I have tried every solution I have seen.

I have tried all of the solutions that I can find online and just tried this one…still no download option with Chrome. I have to switch over to Firefox (which is a hassle) whenever I find a video that I would like to download. I tried the various preferences (right click, length of time for mouse over) Did a reinstall of Chrome to get the latest…disabled Pepperflash..reinstalled latest Realplayer and nothing..tried the various options given for Realplayer download and nothing works.

Hi,
I’ve been experiencing problem with Real Downloader on Chrome for quite a long time now; mainly it would suddenly just crash while navigating. So I disabled the extension and i uninstalled all of Real Player from my computer and reinstalled again. But now it’s not working on any of my navigators (Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer) even though i got the message that the extension was being enabled. Specifically in Chrome i have checked that Real Downloader is enables in the chrome://plugins/ but it doesn’t appear in the extensions page (inside TOOLS); i’ve also tried dragging it there but didn’t work.
I’ve rebooted my computer but still the same.
Thank you very much for your help.
The Download this video button appers in Foxpro but not in
Google Chrome and Internet explorer . Have downloaded the latest version of Chrome and
Realplayer. But still no luck. kindly advise.

Just thought I would leave a note to help others. I had problems with Realplayer Downloader not working after a system restore which should not have affected realplayer. To cut a long story, I uninstalled/reinstalled a few times; I uninstalled/reinstalled Chrome too. Nothing I did was working. I ran Registry Mechanic and Crap Cleaner; restarted the PC. In the end, I manually went through the Registry Editor and removed anything and everything that had to do with Realplayer (you need to view the binary of hundreds of keys because they are not immediately obvious). I then reinstalled Realplayer and now everything is working fine. Perhaps Real should write a program that removes all related keys for a fresh install because uninstalling leaves hundreds of legacy keys that can prevent the downloader from reinstalling in the registry.
did not work in both.
have only 2 plugins
I tried the 1st one but it wont work. I have installed the real player but on my desktop its icon is a file and it is not an app…

My reaIplayer has only recently stopped working properly. A quick error message appears down the bottom of the download progress screen saying I need to update my flash player even though I have the latest available! I can download video clips to my library but when I try to watch them there is nothing there but a black screen and no audio even though the progress bar shows it is playing! I am still able to watch other content in my library. If I uninstall/reinstall will I lose my library contents? I am running Windows 7 and Google Chrome. Have looked at plugins and there is only one version of flash player and that is active.

I uninstalled Chrome (using the normal uninstall programs in the control panel). Then I re-installed Chrome from Google. When I opened the newly installed Chrome the “Customize and control” at upper right of window (at far right end of address bar) was highlighted (kind of an orange color). I hovered over it and was notified that a real player extension was ready to install. I allowed it and then checked all extensions. RealDownloader 1.3.2 was installed and enabled. I am happy to say I am now able to download videos with Realplayer from Chrome. I did not disable the ….pepper.dll…. or do anything to the Realplayer settings. This is on Windows 8 O.S. (64 bit). The RealDownloader extension was not there before I uninstalled and re-installed Chrome. I hope this will be helpful to someone but as we all know nothing works every time for every one.
when i download videos using real player, when i play them all that appears is a black screen with no sound. I tried step number one but all it did was make the download bar no appear, and i tried uninstalling and installing real player again. it would be awesome if you can find a solution for this problem. HELP!!!!

Real is a rip-off three months after taking my money they still haven’t fixed an inability to download and play videos from you tube.
Hello d seo,
Some sites have introduced a new streaming standard and we are working on an update to RealPlayer that will allow for this new format. In the meantime, you can try the temporary solution provided in this link (if you are using Internet Explorer):
https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/23698236
When we have an update on the status of this issue, we will let you know and provide any instructions that may be necessary.
I tried both of the steps above .. Still the Download this video button is not displayed.. But it is working fine in IE and Firefox… Pls help
just got a new computer – with windows 8 and google chrome latest update….download video appears and is clickable but then says unable to download video – neither option worked and the only version of realplayer available is tailored specifically for windows 8 – plus the app version – but neither allow a download….it still works on my other computer with windows 7 chrome
when/how will we be notified about the forth coming update?
Please follow the steps provided in this link to change the download location of RealPlayer: https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/24071053-Change-download-location-for-videos and try to download videos. Make sure the RealPlayer plug-in is enabled in Google Chrome by following: https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/24007773-Download-This-Video-does-not-work-in-Google-Chrome
There is a more efficient and elegant way of resolving the problem whereby the readDownLoader just sits in the taskbar, works, but does not maximize. Follow these simple steps.
1. You need to make sure realDownloader has the focus by pressing Alt + Tab,
and then press Tab until it is selected.
2. Press Alt + spacebar, then choose Maximize
This should solve your problem.
I’ve tried using Internet Explorer and Google Chrome to download in youtube, but the audio won’t play or the video doesn’t work while the audio does. Any advice?
Youtube and other sites have introduced a new streaming standard. We are working on an update to RealPlayer that will allow for this new format. We now expect to release a fix with the next RealPlayer 16 build in mid-August. In the meantime, you can try the interim solution provided in this link (if you are using Internet Explorer): https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/23698236
I’ve tried everything disable flash player downloading Quick time update download vids in internet Exp ,Firefox browsers Vids still coming out as Mp4 not playing b/c there quick time. At this point I’m asking when is Real player networks going to give a notice to real layer customers that the issue has been resolved since it seem that you tube, Vevo, Daily motion ect other downloadable sites are in new a format with Google chrome and IE, fire fox other browsers that are not co-ensiding with Real player 16 which are having vids coming out as mp4 MPEG4 when there not. Are we going to get alerts does real player networks have “real player news” or something to let us know? I’ve read here that Mid August there going to be a release on something but I’m not understanding clearly what that is. Is Real player customer still using Real player 16 I can’t see Real Player net works putting out a new Version of real player 17 to fix the issue since Real 16 hasn’ t been out that long. thank again Real player customer
Youtube and other sites have introduced a new streaming standard. We are working on an update to RealPlayer that will allow for this new format. We now expect to release a fix with the next RealPlayer 16 build in mid-August.
So real player customer wil have to re download real player 16 in August correct? with the fix build format.
Yes, you just need to update or redownload RealPlayer. We expect to release a fix in mid-August.
All of a sudden, in the last month or so, I have not been able to open downloaded you tube clips.
The clip is downloaded and its file size is portrayed, but when I tried to open I got just a dead window. Incidentally, it wont open with Windows media player (Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file) .nor Quick time. What gives>?
I just downloaded both chrome and realplayer, but the download now button does not exist (even on my IE10 windows).
Let me inform you, YouTube and other sites have introduced a new streaming standard. Essentially, the files that are being downloaded are not actually MP4s but a new streaming format that is being misidentified as MP4. We are working toward compatibility with this new format and expect to release a fix in mid-August.

Tried downloading video from YouTube to laptop using Realplayer and it downloads it as a white piece of paper with a folded corner & NOTHING else. I am NOT getting any video downloads like I was with the OLD version of Realplayer and this totally SUCKS. Will NOT purchase your for sale version of this at all, that’s for sure if I’m going through such hassles & frustration with the free one. LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE. BRING BACK THE OLD VERSION THAT WORKED, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!

The solution mentioned above is right except one thing, You must hit the disable button on the SECOND plug in(Shockwave Flash 11.8 r800) instead of the first one. As soon as I did that, everything worked properly. Good luck. You also have to make sure you are using Real Player 16.
I tried installing the latest Realplayer, but something went wrong during the install process, and now I can’t find the RealDownloader extension in Chrome. Real Player is installed and RealDownloader does show up in IE. but not in Chrome. I can’t enable or disable it since it’s not even there in the extension tab. Realdownloader window does not bring to front. Downloading videos is fine, but the window is permanently minimized and found no solutions to opening the window. The only way to preview the Realdownloader window is to Windows + Tab on Windows 7, and I have to frequently ‘close’ the realdownloader while it is downloading, to view the downloading progress on the preview screen. Anyone have solutions to this bug?

I’ve done all this and more, but the download button STILL doesn’t appear, please help, I’ve checked everything, all the system requirements, everything!

The download option appears, but there is no download window (the window that shows the download progress of the video).
I have taken the trouble to uninstall and install the latest version of Chrome and RealPlayer, but I am still having trouble with downloading videos.
For example, for video clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYrj9jgxC8c
the “Download This Video” box would pop up, but after I clicked at it, the RealDownloader would always fail to download the clip, saying “Unable to download.”
However, for video clip at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjQC9x85SUY
the “Download This Video” box would NOT pop up at all.
Furthermore, when I used Internet Explorer to download the same two clips, the “Download This Video” box would pop up and after clicking at it, RealDownloader would quickly download these clips without any problem at all.
By the way, in case it would make any sense to you, when I started to run Google Chrome, sometimes Chrome would show the warning message “RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader PepperFlashVideoShim Plug-In (32-bit) has crashed”, but not every time.
FYI, I am using a 64-bit laptop.
If you previously disabled Pepper Flash in Google Chrome, you will need to enable it for Download This Video to work with RealPlayer 16. See the instructions provided in the link but click Enable (instead of Disable).

I had a problem using the “Download this video” option in Chrome only. I fixed it by opening, chrome://plugins/ in my web browser. There, I found a had multiple Realplayer related plugins. I decided to disable the plugin below, and now my “Download this video option” works in Chrome.
Name: RealPlayer(tm) HTML5VideoShim Plug-In (32-bit)
Description: RealPlayer(tm) HTML5VideoShim Plug-In
Version: 15.0.5.109
I disabled this knowing that Version 15 is not my current Realplayer version and perhaps it needed disabled. Hope this helps somebody.
Also if this doesn’t work, try going to Tools>Task Manager in Chrome and End Process to all Realplayer Plugins and then restart Chrome.

I can’t get the real downloader button to appear on any videos no matter what website I visit. I was “fortunate” to have gotten a windows 7 update along with a new update to flash player and Google chrome tonight.
I have tried disabling pepper as well as other parts of flash as well as downloader and reinitialized my browser in all the possible combinations I could think of. I have even completely removed Real player and re-installed it along with numerous restarts of my computer, all to no avail.
My software versions are as follows:
Chrome Version 31.0.1650.48 m
Adobe Flash Player (2 files) – Version: 11.9.900.152
RealPlayer (2 files) – Version: 16.0.3.51

RealPlayer Plus 16 is compatible with Internet Explorer 8, 9, 10, Firefox 19 and above & Google Chrome 24 – 30. RealPlayer 16 will not work with Internet Explorer 11. Download This Video has limited compatibility with IE 11 (the default browser for Windows 8.1) and Google Chrome 31 instead use Firefox to download videos.
We are committed to releasing an update as soon as we are able. Until we’ve completed development and testing, we won’t know if it’s ready for public release. If, in testing, we find issues, we need to fix them by repeating the cycle. This is standard practice in software development.
We can’t make any promises but we are currently on track for that and will notify customers when it is available. Here’s what we expect in that release:
– Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) Compatible with Enhanced Protection Mode (EPM)
– Chrome 31
I downloaded real player…updated it…turned pepper flash off in chrome…extensions are on “RealDownloader 1.33” and VidSaver 1.18.27….i dont even get the pop up to download the video

I’m running Chrome on a Windows 7. Downloaded the latest version of Real Player Cloud (did a ‘check for updates’ and was told that I’m running the latest version). I even added the Real Player extension to Chrome. I have Chromecast and it works fine with Youtube and Netflix.
However, I do not see the Chromecast button on Real Player Cloud. Please HELP!!!!!
I’ve accessed the plug in page for Google Chrome and when I hit the Detail button, the flash player is the first plugin listed, but the entry shows only 1 version of flash, not 3 like was mentioned in the instructions above. I followed your directions concerning Flash, and I also downloaded the most recent version of Realplayer Cloud. I can still not download a Youtube video using Chrome. Interestingly, I CAN download a Youtube video using Internet Explorer. Why does it not work with Chrome? The problem is that in Chrome I do not get the Realplayer download button at the top right of the video. Please advise.
I have the latest Real Player 16 plus Cloud installed and for downloading videos, it never completes the download, it asks me to refresh and start over. Well I did many times and same results. I transfer the message file to my other computor that has Real Player version 15.0.4.53 and I can successfully download videos fron YouTube that the latest version cannot even download. I paid for this latest version, but it is useless to me. Could I possibly get one of the older version so I can download the videos as on my other computor
Yes I tried everything it said to do But did not appear on the video
I am running MS Vista. I have the current version of Chrome. I have installed the latest version or free Real Player. I have installed the Real downloader. I have the downloader extension plugin enabled. I do not have a download preference with a selectable browser. I cannot get the downloader to work on any site any where.
Nothing is working! Cannot download video and have meticulously followed all steps. Another thing I don’t understand is how can you disable Flash but Flash is required to play videos?
i had accidentally uninstalled the RealPlayer chrome extension how can i re-install it?

I’m not using realplayer anymore until you bring back the download this video option.
So I’ve heard there’s limited compatibility with the latest versions of Chrome. Which versions would you recommend using?
Sorry that you are having trouble with downloading videos!
Before downloading the videos, make sure that you have enabled the RealPlayer browser plug-in by following this link:
https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/23689856
Once enabled try to download videos. If the issue still persists, please provide the following information:
1. What is the name of browser are you using to download videos? (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox)
2. What is the version of your browser?
3. What is the RealPlayer build number?
To find the build number follow these steps:
1. Open the RealPlayer software.
2. From the RealPlayer menu in the upper left, choose “Help” option.
3. Choose “About RealPlayer” inside the “Help” menu. A window opens.
4. Look for the information listed beside “Version” near the top of the “About RealPlayer” window. These numbers indicate the version of RealPlayer currently installed on the computer (i.e. “RealPlayer 16.0.3.51” or “RealPlayer 17.0.1.179”).

I have a new computer (Windows 7). ‘Have latest versions of both Chrome & RP (Cloud). ‘Followed instructions at top of page, except I only had two versions of flash in the plug-ins & the top one was: C:Program Files (x86)GoogleChromeApplication32.0.1700.72PepperFlashpepflashplayer.dll
. Still disabled it & followed rest of instructions, & still the “download this video” button won’t show up using Chrome. I don’t know if this is useful info., but I also downloaded latest version of Adobe Flash prior to trying to fix the “download this video” button issue.

For the last week or so, I keep getting the following message on my Google Chrome taskbar: RealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader PepperFlashVideoShim Plug-In (32-bit) needs your
permission to run; with the following two select options: Run this time; Always run on this site. This issue hasn’t occurred on my IE 8, so far.
However, regardless of which option I choose, the same annoying message keeps repeatedly popping up on the same pages that I’ve previously given permission (I almost exclusively click on the “Always Run” option!). This NEVER happened to me on this PC (A Windows 8 Based Laptop that’a been upgraded to 8.1) before and would like to know what I have to do to fix this as this is really annoying! There seems to be a lot of uncertainty as to whether this issue is being caused by some unknown virus or some other weird glitch!
Can somebody please kindly enlighten me about any workable solutions for this?
On an unrelated note, I can no longer successfully use RealPlayer Downloader to download YouTube Videos, though I can do this on other sites (Though I have to use IE 8, as the RPD function won’t work on my Google Chrome, regardless of my attempted tweaking of RealDownloader 1.3.3 in the Google Chrome Extensions!). Can anyone tell me why this is?
CHEERS!

This thing hasn’t worked with Chrome on my system since October 2013 (it’s now Jan 2014). I’ve seen more than one “press release” from Real saying it’s fixed – but it’s not.
Oh, forgot to mention… the reason I switched to Chrome is because back in about August it quit working in Firefox – and it NEVER worked in Internet Explorer.
Sorry you can’t download videos!

I’ve tried both solutions and my downloader won’t appear in any of my 3 browsers (IE, Firefox or Chrome)
Performing a clean uninstall and reinstall can help you resolve many issues, to do so follow this link: https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/23994572
Note: Make sure you delete the RealPlayer folders as mentioned on the link before reinstalling RealPlayer.
After installing RealPlayer, follow the steps to enable the RealPlayer Plugin in your web browser,

I have been having issues with Realplayer download not working with my Chrome web browser. For months it hasn’t been working but would work in IE. I would uninstall realplayer and then reinstall it. This seemed to work for a little while but then it would stop. I’ve left it alone thinking it would fix itself with updates either through Chrome updating or realplayer but still nothing has been resolved. Then recently I would get notified that realplayer is asking for permission to run either run or always run on sites. After a few days of it bugging me I searched for my answer last night and tried to see fo the steps above would help. The flash player that is similar than the above step is adobe I disabled and the realplayer flashplayerpepper did the steps and still had problems. I have the current version of Realplayer along with Chrome version 32.0.1700.76 m. I seen that it was recommended to uninstall Chrome and reinstall and found that so far I am not getting the pesky notification but still sad that Realplayer download won’t work on Chrome. Please let me know how to fix this or when it will be fixed. Until then I have no choice to use IE if I want to download something.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

Now real downloader seems to work in Firefox 26 and FF PB p, but still not in Chrome (and there is no pepper flash there and I cannot find that to install it. Now realdownloader is not working in IE on some websites and those it does not, it seems the video screen is only black, so possibly some problem with IE and adobe flash player. Main one I would like to get working is Chrome and not have problems in a couple of weeks with firefox. thanks again
”Download This Video” option has limited its compatibility with the latest version of Google Chrome (32). Our technical team is aware of this issue and currently working on a fix. In the meantime, you can use alternate browsers like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to download videos.
Note: RealPlayer Cloud is compatible with Internet Explorer 11 and Google Chrome 31. RealPlayer Cloud is compatible with Windows 7 or higher. You can download it from: http://www.real.com
If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
I updated my RealPlayer twice but I am still facing the problem. I can download on Internet Explorer but not on CHrome. I checked chrome plugins but real player downloader was not listed their. What should I do???
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Note: We do have a known compatibility issue with the latest version of the Chrome browser, Chrome 32, so Download This Video does not currently appear for users on that browser. We expect to release a fix for this issue in the next week or so.
In this case, I suggest you to download videos using alternate browsers like Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. Before downloading videos, make sure that you have enabled the browser plug-in using this link:

>Type http://www.youtube.com and click OK.

First, uninstall the existing software using the instructions here:

Yeah I tried it, after disabling the flash I had no videos at all, now I have the recent version of Realplayer, the cloud version and it doesn’t open for quite awhile and I can’t get rid of it, don’t like the cloud and I still haven’t got the download button so all this was for nothing, except to make matters worse
I got stuck with the realplayer cloud version and it didnt open, I uninstalled it and I lost the previous version, the halfway decent usable one, I have no realplayer at all now, but on the bright side, I have no problems with it anymore

Recently upgraded to RP Cloud but it is not yet compatible w Chrome
the browser will occasionally display the Download Now button for certain pages but will occasionally freeze; when this occurs, a prompt then appears saying “The following plug-in has become unresponsive: Unknown. Would you like to stop it?” Selecting NO keeps the browser frozen, while selecting YES unfreezes it — a drop-down notification will then appear saying “RealPlayer Video Downloader for PepperFlash (32-bit) has crashed.” On some pages, the “Bookmark This Video” button will appear, but the program is still pretty flawed.
Hope you guys fix it soon
