BURNING A DVD WITH REALPLAYER PLUS
Ready to start burning DVDs with RealPlayer Plus?
HOW TO BURN A DVD WITH REALPLAYER PLUS
1. Launch RealPlayer Plus.
2. Select Burn from the top navigation bar. If the burner is set to Audio CD Burner, use the dropdown menu to pick Video Disc Burner or simply click on the Video Disc Burner button.
3. Insert a DVD in the DVD burner and choose a DVD type. If you want to burn HD videos to standard DVD, select AVCHD DVD Videos from the drop down menu.
4. Select videos from your RealPlayer library that you want to burn to DVD and drag it to the video menu. You can rearrange the order by selecting them and dragging them into the order that you want them to appear.
5. Click the Burn Video to Disc button. There are options to rename the disc or choose to include on-screen menus as a guide to the disc content or remove that option completely. If you opt for the later option, there won’t be any menus or chapters on the completed DVD and it will just play the videos from start to finish.
Click on Advanced Options to choose the video-output setting. NTSC is standard. Change the Aspect Ratio to either 4:3 or Widescreen 16:9. If you plan on watching the DVD on a HDTV choose 16:9. Select the write speed of your DVD player.
6. Click the Burn button to start burning your DVD
Once the disc is finished burning, you can play it in a DVD player in your car, computer, or at home. Use the customized menu you created to easily navigate to the videos you want.

Hi Edward,
Audio and Video problems during playback may be caused by an incompatibility in the original file format. Try first converting the file(s) to MP4 or WMV, and then burning the DVD. The conversion should resolve the sound issues when the new DVD is played.

I have Realplayer Plus 15 on a Windows 7 computer. I am trying to burn an MP4 video to a DVD, but when I click “Add Selected to Disc,” it tells me that there is no video content in the MP4 and won’t add it to the burn list. I have watched the entire video, so I know it is there. Why is this happening and what can I do about it?

where is the option to specify which of the 2 DVD burners in my system to use?
the first one is fried and it’s a chore to replace it
so when I try to burn RP Plus v.16 always says the target device is not ready
of course it’s not ready there is no disc in it
the disc is in drive 2 with no option to specify drive 2 in the burn dialogs
so far the only hack that works is to forcibly swap the drive letters in disk management
Hi,

I can burn a dvd O.K., and when I play it in any computer, it works fine.
But when I put it in my DVD player, to play it on the T.V., it will not recognize the DVD and says, there’s no disc. What do I need to do to record it correctly, so it’ll play in a DVD player that’s connected to the T.V.?
Thanks

1. when I try to download videos the downloader will only download a small portion of the clip.
2. The clips that I previously downloaded will play ,but will not burn. I have realplayer 16 plus i have downloaded the K lite codec package.
3. when I trim some of the previously downloaded clips they will not be recoginized by real player for burning.
4. I have contacted customer support numerous times to try to fix these problems. The last time I allowed realplayer personnel to come into my computer and try to fix it for me. That didn’t work either and I was told by the agent that the problem was in the realplayer on your end and that you are having lots of trouble with this codec problem. He then issued me a $10.00 refund and said that I could continue to try burning.I am still trying with out any results. The codec message still come up .
5. I download from youtube mostly and it has been downloading in Flv but it started downloading in mp4 I know it should still work , but for some reason they only down load a small portion of the video and will noy play back.
6. Yeah I know contact customer support …again

Hi – I am trying to burn videos DVD+R DL; I can burn regular DVDs no problem, and my DVD drive does have the +RD L letters on it….Is there something in RealPlayer where I need to tell it what type of DVD I am burning, so that it will add 240 minutes of video to be transferred instead of only 120 minutes?
Thanks!!
Thanks for your interest in RealPlayer!
RealPlayer Plus is designed to burn a blank, single-layer DVD-R or a DVD-RW disc and not DVD+R DL. At this time, RealPlayer 15 and 16 can burn a file or playlist that is within the limit up to 120 minutes per DVD, up to 60 minutes for AVCHD.
Hi,im thinking seriously about purshasing plus 16 but need to know if it’ll work with xp? I do have a computer with wundows 7 though. Will ibe able to record videos from youtube without any problems? As long as it doesnt exceed 120min? When will you start suporting 240 min?
Thanks

If a RealNetworks application is running with Compatibility Mode settings turned on, it can experience various different errors or unexpected behaviors. On Windows XP, these programs should be used without any Compatibility Mode settings enabled. On Windows Vista, 7 and 8, it is strongly recommended that these applications use the Run As Administrator option. No other Compatibility Mode options should be enabled.
To check these applications for Compatibility Mode settings:
1. Click the Windows Start button in the bottom left of your computer screen.
2. Right-click on the icon for the program or browser.
3. Select Properties.
4. Go to the Compatibility tab.
5. Uncheck any boxes that are checked (VISTA/7/8 USERS: leaving “Run As Administrator” checked is fine).
6. Click Apply.
7. Click OK.
If this doesn’t work, please send an email to help@real.com, include a brief description of the issue, copy and paste the link to this thread within the email for further assistance.

I have a problem similar to Helen (3/3/2013) above – when I click the “Burn” button, I get a notice that .there is no disc in the drive. I tried clicking on the link in your response to Helen, but that page no longer exists.
Sorry you can’t burn videos!
It sounds like you clicked on an article which is expired.
The burn speed should be at or above the speed of your DVD burner (for example, if your DVD burner is 16x, an 8x disc will not work unless you lower your burn speed to 8x or lower). You can use either a DVD-R or a DVD-RW disc; if the DVD-RW has content on it already, you’ll be prompted to erase it as part of the burning process.
You may get an “Insert Blank Disc” or “No Disc Detected” error message if:
– The disc is not in the correct drive
– The disc is not blank
– The disc is not supported (RealPlayer can’t burn to Dual-layer or Blu-Ray discs)
Please read this article for additional instructions: https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/23689906
If the issue still persists, please send an email to help@real.com
I tried using a DVD-RW and RealPlayer still insists that there is no disk in the drive. I went out and bought an external DVD drive, but I don’t know how to direct RealPlayer to the USB-connected DVD writer. What steps do I need to take?
If you have connected the external DVD drive, that will be added in your RealPlayer. To select the external drive to burn DVD, follow this steps:
1. Open RealPlayer.
2. Click on RealPlayer logo.
3. Select ‘Preferences’ from the drop down menu
4. In the ‘Preferences’ window, under ‘Category’ click on plus mark near to CD.
5. Click on ‘CD Burner’
6. On the right side corner, in the Default Location option, select the drive which you have added.
I hope this information is helpful. If the issue still persists, let us know and you can also send an email to help@real.com
why is it everytime i burn dvd on my computer, it will not play in my dvd player…???
Try lowering the burn speed while burning videos. To do so, follow these steps:
1. Open RealPlayer.
2. Click the RealPlayer logo in the upper left and select Preferences.
3. On the left, you should see CD. Expand this by clicking the + symbol.
4. Click CD Burning.
5. Adjust the Write Speed. Decrease this to the smallest value. Generally, 4X should be fine. You can adjust this to a higher speed once you get it working at a lower speed.
Once done, try burning the videos again and play them in DVD player.
If you have any additional questions, please send an email to help@real.com
