Sports Bloopers – Epic Fails or Just Funny Videos
There is no shortage of funny videos, sports bloopers or just plain crazy videos on YouTube. The only thing we are short on is time to watch all these videos. With YouTube gaining 60 hours of video per minute, it is impossible to even watch a small percentage of what is truly funny or entertaining. That’s where we come in. In addition to helping you with video technology questions and keeping you up to date on video news, we are going to share some of our RealPlayer team’s favorite YouTube videos each week.
Although funny cat videos and talking dog videos may become the most popular on YouTube, we have to give homage when the target of the funny video is human. What’s more, when it’s a real person who is trying to show off their athletic ability but ends up being tagged as an “epic fail,” we need to truly respect their efforts as we roll on the floor laughing.
Watch Your Favorite Sports Bloopers Videos Anywhere
Since ESPN does a great job of covering professional sports bloopers, we wanted to share our favorite amateur sports bloopers. We aren’t just going to cover the most popular bloopers, because you can see those lists on YouTube and Google already. We wanted to share some obscure but really funny sports bloopers that should be enjoyed by the masses. However, these funny videos didn’t make the top of anyone’s sports blooper lists.
Sometimes a funny sports video doesn’t make the popular list because we get bored and give up before the blooper ever happens. We are truly living in the ADD generation. This boxing blooper is a great example. As you watch and wait very patiently through all the pre-fight antics, you will notice that the epic failure in this instance is not realizing when the fight really begins. This video also shows you don’t need good video quality to get over 200,000+ views.
Shocking Boxing Sports Blooper
A good sports blooper sometimes doesn’t even have to be part of a game or competition. Simply practicing a particular maneuver for a sport can get you on an epic fail list. Why was this guy practicing a karate kick alone with a tall ladder? We’ll never know.
Karate Epic Fails
However practicing karate kick in a gym with fellow team members and cushy tumbling mats, doesn’t mean you’ll be safe from a sports blooper roll either.
Classic Baseball Bloopers
Several sports bloopers get more viewers because of their great prowess in simple editing. For example, who doesn’t want to see the pain ensue three times slowly in this baseball sports blooper. What’s more, the small sound editing helps you truly feel the pain. Sometimes you just can’t help but watch sport bloopers over and over. The smart but simple editing in this video takes care of that need.
Sometimes it’s the annotations or sports captions that keep you engaged watching bloopers. Like this classic kid getting hit with a baseball in a delicate place, which seems to be the theme for many sports bloopers.
Some sports bloopers don’t take a lot of time and get right to the point, like this eight-second-soccer sports blooper or this three-second stellar skateboarding epic fail. These both also prove the point that you don’t even need high quality video for a great sports blooper. Both of these are good examples of how a video only needs to be a few seconds long to show the true pain and glory of sports accidents. Somehow sports bloopers with “epic fail” in the title or YouTube tag always seem make you gasp or groan out loud.
I am sure we missed millions of sports videos that could be tagged as an epic fail. Since we don’t have enough time in the day to find all the really funny videos, we’d love to see your favorite sports bloopers. You can also share some of your friend’s epic failures. Please share them by leaving a comment below, so we can help people find the truly hidden YouTube video gems.

Love the first sports video! I’d want to do the same thing just to make that idiot stop twirling around.
My absolute favorite scripted blooper is the tennis match scene from Bridesmaids. Too funny! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xneacz_tennis-match-from-bridesmaids-2011_shortfilms
That boxing one is funny but is that a fight club scenario?
I think the venue and crowd is a bit large to be an underground fight club. However, it could be.
These are good, but this guy getting stuck in the net while trying to dunk is priceless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRIX5nDe-XM
Not exactly an actual blooper but I love SNL sports spoofs like this NBA one where Charles Barkley Dresses Up As Shaq…

I like when there’s a montage of videos. I don’t like the videos when it’s obvious people were injured.
That fight scene is from The movie never back down
